Abstract

In this chapter, the leading symptoms of disorders of the hip, the knee, the ankle, and the foot are discussed. The focus will be on common disorders, the patient history involved, associated pain (especially relating to aspects of time), as well as local findings and possible neurological deficits. Clinical pictures of disorders, congenital malformations, metabolic disorders, degenerative disorders and inflammation, as well as trauma are discussed. Each section also contains a discussion on tumor disorders. In recent years, clinical examination of the lower extremity has seen an increase in importance, not only for the hip and knee joint but also for the foot.
