Abstract

The internationalization of countries can be easily monitored with the help of indicators. In Chap. 2, the KOF Index of Globalization of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich is presented which gives a broad view of internationalization. Then, economic internationalization is looked at. To do so, export, import and FDI figures are considered. The internationalization of the economy has many facets and reasons. This is shown with the help in two insets on the Vietnamese textile industry and on the Swiss watch industry.
