Abstract
This chapter focuses on identifying the activities for a potential relocation and on combining them into reasonable activity bundles. Furthermore, guidelines on the make-or-buy of these activity bundles are determined. Such a framework for going international for production and sourcing reduces the complexity of the next planning steps, in particular the determination of suitable locations and operation modes. After general explanations, a process for determining a framework for going international for production and sourcing is proposed.
