Abstract

Pectus carinatum represents a variety of protrusion deformities of the anterior chest wall. Although the correction of pectus carinatum was initiated by the development and reporting of various techniques in surgical repair, the trends in treatment of these deformities have moved towards the use of minimal access techniques and non-surgical conservative methods which have gained popularity. This chapter describes an overview of the various techniques in surgical management of pectus carinatum and offers insights into the options in orthotic bracing to manage the condition using non-surgical treatment methods.
