Zusammenfassung

Die pädiatrische Endokrinologie und Diabetologie ist ein überwiegend ambulanter pädiatrischer Fachbereich. Nur wenige Indikationen führen zu stationären Aufenthalten der Patienten: Das ist in der Regel bei der Manifestation eines Diabetes mellitus der Fall sowie bei der stationären Durchführung eines Durstversuchs, um zwischen einer psychogenen Polydipsie, einem zentralen Diabetes insipidus und einem renalen Diabetes insipidus unterscheiden zu können. Die meisten anderen endokrinologischen Stimulationstestungen können im ambulanten Setting durchgeführt werden.
