Zusammenfassung

Die Festlegung der Therapiebedürftigkeit bei Osteoporose erfolgt in erster Linie anhand der Knochendichte und der vorhandenen Risikofaktoren nach der aktuellen Leitlinie der DVO. Zur Einschätzung des Risikos hinsichtlich der Entwicklung weiterer Frakturen ist die Kenntnis vorhandener atraumatischer Frakturen wichtig und insbesondere eine Abgrenzung gegenüber älteren traumatisch bedingten Frakturen notwendig. Das Risiko für weitere Frakturen korreliert sowohl mit der Anzahl als auch dem Schweregrad fortbestehender Wirbelkörperfrakturen. Dies gilt sowohl für klinisch manifeste Wirbelkörperfrakturen als auch radiologische Zufallsbefunde.
