Abstract

Metabolic lung disease can be classified as protein deposition (amyloidosis), disturbances of calcium metabolism, disturbed metabolism of lipids and lipoproteins; some of these diseases are systemic, others affect only the lung. Most of them are rare diseases, except amyloidosis, which often affect the lung.
