Zusammenfassung

Das Buch trägt den Titel „Verletzlichkeit und Reife“. Wie im Eingangskapitel deutlich gemacht wurde, ist mit Blick auf die Charakterisierung des hohen Alters eine wichtige Aufgabe darin zu sehen, die Verletzlichkeitsperspektive und die Potenzialperspektive zu integrieren, was bedeutet, sowohl nach den Schwächen als auch nach den Stärken des hohen Alters zu fragen. In diesem Kapitel stehen die möglichen Schwächen im hohen Alter im Zentrum sowie die Frage, welche Möglichkeiten der Prävention und Rehabilitation sich bieten, um diesen vorzubeugen, diese zu lindern bzw. zu kompensieren.
