Zusammenfassung
Die Bemühungen verschiedener Definitionen und Interpretationen, zu einer übergreifenden „Theorie der Information“ und zu einem allgemeingültigen Informationsbegriff zu kommen, zeigen das wachsende Interesse an einem gemeinsamen Verständnis dieses Begriffs. Dabei sind die Grenzen dieser Bemühungen zum Teil weit gezogen und beziehen soziale Theorien, Kommunikationsverhalten, Systemtheorie und sich selbst organisierende Systeme mit ein. Die folgende Zusammenfassung bestehender und diskutierter Informationsmodelle soll einen Eindruck von den vielfältigen Näherungen an den Begriff „Information“ geben.
