Zusammenfassung
Wenn eine gravierende neurologische Ursache aufgrund der Anamnese und Symptomatik nicht ausgeschlossen werden kann oder Unsicherheit besteht, dann muss zeitnah alles getan werden, um die Ursache zu klären. Bei jedem kinderneurologischen Notfall muss eine der vier diagnostischen Optionen sofort erwogen werden: Lumbalpunktion, Bildgebung, Elektrolyte/Blutzucker, ggf. Drogenscreening. Die Diagnostik bei Fieberkrämpfen ist von den Ursache des Fiebers, der Länge des Anfalls und vom postiktalen Zustand abhängig. Ein Standardvorgehen hilft beim Status epilepticus, rasch und in ausreichender Dosierung zu behandeln. Gangstörungen sind meist harmlos, außer sie sind mit Schmerzen oder weiteren neurologischen Symptomen verbunden. Akute Sehminderung oder akuter Strabismus erfordern dringliche Diagnostik und Behandlung.
