Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund. Tumorpatienten sind häufig von einer Mangelernährung betroffen. Die Folgen sind eine Verschlechterung von Lebensqualität und Leistungsfähigkeit, geringere Toleranz gegenüber einer Tumortherapie sowie eine geringere Überlebenszeit.
Ergebnisse. Die frühzeitige Erkennung und Therapie einer Mangelernährung ist dementsprechend ein zentraler, relevanter Bestandteil der Tumortherapie. Zur Diagnose der Mangelernährung existieren strukturierte Fragebögen. Auch kommen objektive Methoden wie die Bioimpedanzanalyse zum Einsatz. Zur Behandlung der Mangelernährung hat sich in den letzten Jahren ein Stufenschema etabliert, das ausgehend von der Ernährungsberatung über die Verordnung von Trink- und Zusatznahrung bis zur Durchführung einer künstlichen Ernährung reicht.
Schlussfolgerungen. In klinischen Studien konnte gezeigt werden, dass eine Ernährungstherapie bei Tumorpatienten den Gewichtsverlust verringert und den Ernährungszustand stabilisiert. Leistungsfähigkeit und Lebensqualität sowie die Überlebenszeit nehmen zu.
