Abstract
As Russia is not a European Union (EU) member country, EU labour law is not applicable within its territory. Employment issues in Russia are primarily regulated by the following legislation: the Labour Code of the Russian Federation (Labour Code), other federal laws and laws of constituent entities which contain labour rules. Additionally, the resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation are also legally binding on the Russian courts, therefore they can also be considered as a source of law within the territory of the Russian Federation.
