Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel beschreibt die Notwendigkeit einer ausführlichen Erhebung der Entwicklung, Art, Lokalisation und Schwere des akuten und des chronischen Schmerzes. Dabei wird die Nutzung von Schmerzfragebögen erläutert, mit deren Hilfe Schmerzstärke und Schmerzempfindlichkeit gemessen werden. Wie sinnvoll und hilfreich es für Patienten wie für den Arzt ist, ein Schmerztagebuch zu führen, wird ebenso erklärt.
