Zusammenfassung

Eine Vielzahl von Studien der letzten Jahre hat belegt, dass Lebenssinn ein wichtiger Faktor ist, wenn es um seelische – und auch körperliche – Gesundheit geht. Sinnerfüllung korreliert positiv mit subjektiver Lebensqualität und objektiver Lebensdauer; sie steht in negativer Beziehung mit verschiedensten körperlichen und psychischen Krankheitssymptomen. Doch Lebenssinn ist weder ein Garant für Gesundheit, noch handelt es sich um ein Allheilmittel! Um die Befunde richtig verstehen zu können, müssen wir verschiedene Perspektiven einnehmen. So wirkt Sinnerfüllung offenbar ganz anders – und über andere Pfade – als eine Sinnkrise.
