Zusammenfassung
In diesem Kapitel wird Grundlegendes zur orthomolekularen Medizin vermittelt. Schon die Verordnung eines Spurenelements oder eines Vitamins erfordert im Hintergrund Kenntnisse der Biochemie, der Toxikologie und in bescheidenerem Ausmaß auch der Immunologie. Faszinierend ist die Nähe von orthomolekularer Medizin und Genetik. Wer die einfachen Kenntnisse der Zusammenhänge zwischen orthomolekularen Arzneien und Genetik nicht berücksichtigt, wird das Erfolgspotenzial der orthomolekularen Medizin nicht nur nicht ausschöpfen, sondern in manchen Fällen auch dem Nichtschadensprinzip nicht gerecht werden.
