Zusammenfassung
Botulinumtoxin ist das stärkste uns bekannte Gift. Bereits die Aufnahme von wenigen Milligramm ist für den Menschen tödlich. Nach dem Paracelsus-Prinzip jedoch („Dosis facit venenum“) wird Botulinumtoxin seit über 30 Jahren in der Medizin zur Behandlung spastischer Muskelerkrankungen und Kokontraktionen eingesetzt. Seit 1987 wurde dann auch über den Einsatz von Btx-A zur Behandlung von Glabellafalten berichtet.
