Zusammenfassung

Tötungen von Neugeborenen werden nahezu ausschließlich von den Müttern verübt, bei Säuglingen und Kindern gibt es auch männliche Täter. Bei der Tötung von Säuglingen und Kleinkindern zeigt sich das gesamte Spektrum gewaltsamer Todesursachen: Ersticken, Erdrosseln, Ertränken, stumpfe Gewalt, scharfe Gewalt, Verbrennen und Vergiften; nur bei dieser Altersgruppe findet sich das Schütteltrauma. Eine Besonderheit ist weiterhin das Töten durch Unterlassen erforderlicher Hilfs- und Schutzmaßnahmen.
