Zusammenfassung
Im Kindesalter ist Bluthochdruck zwar eine seltene Erkrankung und die kardiovaskuläre Mortalität ist sehr gering, die Tatsache, dass Bluthochdruck und kardiovaskuläres Risiko aber häufig bereits in der Kindheit oder sogar intrauterin determiniert werden, hat zur Forderung geführt, auch im Kindesalter regelmäßige Blutdruckkontrollen durchzuführen, um ein erhöhtes kardiovaskuläres Risiko frühzeitig diagnostizieren und therapieren zu können. Ziel der Hypertoniediagnostik im Kindesalter ist der Nachweis einer dauerhaften Blutdruckerhöhung, der Ausschluss bzw. Nachweis einer sekundären Hypertonie, die Evaluation von möglicherweise bestehenden Endorganschäden sowie die Erstellung eines kardiovaskulären Risikoprofils.
