Zusammenfassung
Zu den klassischen Essstörungen gehören die Anorexia nervosa und die Bulimia nervosa. Aber auch die Adipositas kann zu den Essstörungen gezählt werden. Alle Erkrankungen sind gute Bespiele für einen psychischen Konflikt, der zu somatischen Folgeerscheinungen führt. Die Gewichtsabnahme bei der Anorexia nervosa erfolgt in der Regel absichtlich, und es besteht eine Körperschemastörung. Allerdings gibt es auch zahlreiche somatische Erkrankungen, die zu einem Untergewicht führen können. So kann es neben verminderter Nahrungszufuhr auch zu enteralen Verlusten wie bei chronisch-entzündlichen Darmerkrankungen kommen, oder aber auch zu einem erhöhten Energieverbrauch wie beispielsweise bei der Tuberkulose. Auch chronisches Erbrechen oder Adipositas können Folge von zahlreichen somatischen Erkrankungen sein.
