Zusammenfassung
Mit den neurophysiologischen Untersuchungen können Funktionsstörungen in verschiedenen Regionen des Gehirns, des Rückenmarks und der peripheren Nerven erfasst werden. Die Ursache dieser Funktionsstörungen lässt sich mit den neurophysiologischen Methoden aber nur ausnahmsweise diagnostizieren. Sie sind meist relativ einfach durchzuführen und können bei der Beurteilung des Verlaufs einer neurologischen Erkrankung ohne großen Aufwand wiederholt eingesetzt werden. Daneben spielen diese Methoden auch für das Neuromonitoring bei verschiedenen neurochirurgischen Eingriffen eine wesentliche Rolle. Dieses Kapitel stellt Grundlagen der evozierten Potenziale, der Nervenleitgeschwindigkeiten und der Elektromyographie dar und zeigt anhand einiger Beispiele ihre Anwendung bei neurochirurgischen Patienten auf.
