Zusammenfassung
Die Behandlungen der Tumorerkrankungen der hinteren Schädelgrube haben in den letzten Jahren bemerkenswerte Fortschritte erzielt. Dies liegt nicht nur an der verbesserten Bildgebung mit Einbezug der Neuronavigation und verfeinerten Operationstechniken, sondern auch an der Weiterentwicklung von verschiedenen Bestrahlungsmethoden und Chemotherapie. Durch zunehmende interdisziplinäre und multizentrische Kooperationen ist es gelungen, die Tumoren nicht nur histopathologisch zu charakterisieren, sondern auch molekulargenetische und epigenetische Aspekte mit einzubeziehen. Diese neuen Erkenntnisse haben nicht nur Einfluss auf die Klassifikation diverser Tumorarten, Aussagen über Krankheitsverläufe inkl. weiterführender diagnostischer Abklärungen, sondern ermöglichen auch neue Therapiestrategien mit weniger invasiven Behandlungskonzepten mit dem Ziel einer verbesserten Lebensqualität dieser Kinder zu entwickeln.
