Abstract

We explored the characteristics and related factors for the proportion of third-party evaluations for long-term care facilities in Japan (Tokuyo and Rouken). We used data previously published by the Japanese government or prefectures. The median of the proportion of the third-party evaluations in Tokuyo was 14.6% and in Rouken it was 8.9%. Prefectures that have referred to third-party evaluations in the 5th Prefectural Insured Long-term Care Service Plan had a higher proportion of third-party evaluations in Tokuyo and Rouken. The difference of proportion of third-party evaluation among prefectures would be wider and wider gradually.
