Abstract
In natural conditions, the forest vegetation of the Dolomites would be composed of a mixed oak forest in the colline belt and a Fagus sylvatica forest at higher elevations, up to 1200–1400 m. This chapter describes these forest communities, along with the dependent associations and the complex relationships that are established between them.
