Zusammenfassung

Bei den in Kap. 9 behandelten Bildverbesserungsverfahren wurden überwiegend subjektive oder qualitative Kriterien betrachtet. Insbesondere war hierbei die visuelle Interpretierbarkeit der Resultate wichtiger als die „Originaltreue“. Aus dieser Motivation heraus resultierte eine überwiegend heuristische Vorgehensweise, bei der teilweise sogar eine absichtliche Verfremdung der Bilder in Kauf genommen wurde, etwa bei der Pseudo- und Falschfarbendarstellung (Abschn. 9.1.3).
