Zusammenfassung
Die Kosmologie beschäftigt sich mit dem Aufbau sowie der Entstehung und Entwicklung des Kosmos als Ganzem. Sie versucht zu verstehen, wie sich das Universum in den Zustand entwickelt hat, den wir heute beobachten, und wie die zukünftige Entwicklung aussehen wird. Als Hinführung zur Kosmologie diskutieren wir Olbers’ Paradoxon, das sich mit der Frage beschäftigt, warum es nachts dunkel ist. Daneben besprechen wir die bahnbrechenden Entdeckungen Edwin Hubble’s zur Ausdehnung des Universums.
