Zusammenfassung

Die Entwicklung einer Theorie des Unbewussten und die Anfänge des Dialogs zwischen der Psychoanalyse und den Neurowissenschaften, ausgehend von Freuds Entwurf einer Psychologie, werden dargestellt. Der Stellenwert des Unbewussten und der unbewussten Fantasie in der modernen Psychoanalyse wird aufgezeigt. Die Verknüpfungen mit neurowissenschaftlichen Forschungsstrategien und Konzepten der „cognitive neuroscience“ zur unbewussten Informationsverarbeitung werden diskutiert. In dieser historischen Rückschau auf die Entwicklung einer „Theorie des Unbewussten“ und deren Modifikationen wird deren Aktualität deutlich.
