Zusammenfassung

Somatisierung beschreibt das Auftreten von körperlichen Symptomen – Schmerzen, vegetativen Symptomen u. a. – ohne eindeutig nachvollziehbare medizinische Ursache. Psychodynamisch kann Somatisierung als Folge der Verdrängung von subjektiv unerträglichen Emotionen, Konflikten und Erinnerungen verstanden werden. Neurobiologisch liegt eine gestörte Funktion in wichtigen Hirnregionen des autobiografischen Gedächtnisses zugrunde. Stehen Schmerzen als Hauptsymptom im Vordergrund, lässt sich häufig eine subjektiv erlebte soziale Trennungssituation als Auslöser eruieren. Überlappende neuronale Repräsentanzen für Schmerzen und soziale Isolierung stellen hierbei die neurobiologische Grundlage für eine übersteigerte Schmerzwahrnehmung dar.
