Abstract

In the last decade dramatic progress has been achieved in the field of attosecond technology, due to breakthroughs in ultrafast laser science and to the introduction of novel experimental techniques for the characterization and application of extreme ultraviolet attosecond pulses, produced by high-order harmonic generation in noble gases. This chapter will review recent experimental progress in the field of attosecond sources.
