Zusammenfassung

Die Gene und Veranlagungen des heutigen Menschen sind nahezu identisch mit denen des prähistorischen Menschen und stellen Anpassungen an das Leben in Kleingruppen dar. Damals waren Nähe, Zusammenhalt und Harmonie entscheidend für ein Überleben. Für den modernen Menschen stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern die heute veränderten Lebensbedingungen seine Aussichten auf Nähe und körperliche Berührung beeinflussen. Welche Auswirkungen hat der Lebensstil der modernen westlichen Welt, wenn es darum geht, das Urbedürfnis nach Nähe zu befriedigen? Heutzutage lautet das Ideal im Wesentlichen, jemand zu „sein“ statt zu jemandem zu „gehören“. Alles auf eigene Faust zu schaffen, wird nicht länger als eigentlich unerwünschtes Übel, sondern als Tugend angesehen.
