Abstract
We introduce basic problems in Section 1.1 and discuss various possibilities for representing matrices in Section 1.3. To introduce examples of ‘large-scale problems’, we recall the discretisation of boundary value problems (cf. §1.5.1) and integral equations (cf. §1.5.2).
