Abstract

In the beginning of Chap. 4 we remarked that, in a flow with small viscosity or at large Reynolds numbers, primary vortical structures are shear layers and secondary (but stronger) vortical structures are axial vortices (often simply called vortices henceforth) in which fluid particles rotate around common axes.
