Zusammenfassung
Diuretika fördern die Ausscheidung von Na+ und Wasser durch Hemmung der Reabsorption von Na+ und anderen Ionen aus dem Tubuluslumen der Niere. Sie sind Basispharmaka zur Behandlung häufiger Erkrankungen wie der arteriellen Hypertonie oder der Herzinsuffizienz mit Ödembildung. Im vorliegenden Kapitel werden zunächst die Physiologie der Harnbildung und die Regulation der Nierenfunktion beschrieben. Danach werden die verschiedenen Diuretikagruppen dargestellt. Die klinische Anwendung von Diuretika wird abschließend am Beispiel der Pharmakotherapie der arteriellen Hypertonie beschrieben.
