Zusammenfassung
Muscle applications are used for increased or decreased resting muscle tone (hypertonicity, hypotonicity) as well as for injuries to the musculature. They have a normalizing effect on resting muscle tone, reducing pain and improving muscle resilience to speed the process of healing. Muscle applications are affixed using 10% tape tension. As the tape is already pre-stretched to 10% on the roll, this is referred to as an unstretched application. The patient is placed in a pre-stretched position, and the tape is affixed to the relevant body part, with 10% pre-stretch. Depending on the type of application used, K-Taping can effect an increase or decrease in tonicity.
