Im Folgenden suchen wir eine Funktion I definiert auf dem Intervall \([0,1]\), die jeder Wahrscheinlichkeit \(p\in[0,1]\) eine Informationsmenge \(I(p)\) zuordnet; von dieser Funktion I werden gewisse Eigenschaften gefordert.
