Abstract
As recent progress in cataract surgery including anesthesia, small incision surgery, introduction of various medications allow us to perform cataract surgery with least complication. However, in addition to many bleeding disorders from vascular fragility, thrombocytopenia, defective platelet function, abnormalities in clotting factors, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and related systemic disorders (renal, hepatic, and rheumatologic disorders), ingestion of many drugs alter normal hemostasis, make cataract surgery more challenging.
