In den bisherigen Kapiteln haben Sie verschiedene Verfahren der deskriptiven und induktiven Statistik kennengelernt, um die Daten aus der fiktiven Studie „ELP vs Standard“ zu analysieren. ▶ Kap. 9 beinhaltet einen exemplarischen Fachartikel, der die Ergebnisse der fiktiven Studie darstellt.

Der Fallzahlberechnung liegen folgende hypothetische Mittelwerte und Standardabweichungen für den MCS-Summenscore zugrunde:\({\bar{\chi}_{1}}=33({{s}_{1}}=\,15)\), \({{\bar{\chi }}_{2\,}}{{=}_{\,}}45({{s}_{2}}\,=\,15)\), daraus ergibt sich eine große Effektstärke von d = 0,8 (s. Abschn. 5.3.3). Diese Schätzung ist sehr optimistisch. Realistischer wäre eine kleine Effektstärke von d = 0,4, die etwas kleiner wäre als die bei Woolf et al. (2000). Damit würde sich die Fallzahl auf insgesamt N = 200 erhöhen, mit jeweils 100 Teilnehmenden in jeder Gruppe.
