Zusammenfassung

Das vorliegende Kapitel ist anatomisch definiert und bildet einen heterogenen Querschnitt teilweise auch an der äußeren Haut vorkommender Erkrankungen. Exakte topographische Angaben sind gerade enoral für die klinisch-histologische Korrelation unerlässlich, weil die normale Mikroanatomie deutliche Unterschiede auf engem Raum benachbarter Sublokalisationen aufweist. Beispielsweise zeigt der Normalbefund des sog. mastikatorischen Epitheltyps an der Gingiva und am harten Gaumen sowie des Zungenrückens Orthokeratose. Dagegen fehlt beim sog. auskleidenden Epitheltyp im Vestibulum, der Wangenschleimhaut, dem weichen Gaumen und Mundboden die Verhornung oder besteht in gering parakeratotischer Form. Als stereotypes Reaktionsmuster des Mundschleimhautepithels auf chronische lokale Reize findet sich Epidermisierung, welche die physiologisch nicht verhornten Epithelzonen den orthokeratotischen Regionen angleicht. Infolge Quellung pathologisch verstärkter Keratose im feuchten Schleimhautmilieu entsteht die klinisch weißliche „leukoplakische“ Färbung. Die begrenzte Reaktionsbreite der Mundschleim-haut umfasst daneben entzündlich-erythematöse, ulzeröse und pigmentierte Befunde, die orientierend die Reihenfolge der dargestellten Krankheitsbilder bestimmen.
