Abstract
Industry, which can be very fundamental in establishing, boosting, and enlivening the city, matters a lot for a new urban area and even a city. Joel Kotkin, an American expert in futurology and urban affairs, asserts in his The City: A Global History, “Three key factors determine the comprehensive and healthy development of these cities, that is, holiness of the location, ability to provide safety and planning, and incentive function of commerce.” Commerce means energetic industry, market, and the overall economy.
