Haptic Rendering for Simulation of Fine Manipulation

Abstract

Performance evaluation of haptic rendering algorithms is an important topic for measuring the fidelity of haptic simulation. In this chapter, we first briefly survey the progress in this field and then introduce a measurement-based method to evaluate the accuracy of different 6-DoF haptic rendering algorithms in interactions involving multi-region contacts.
