Zusammenfassung
Ziele. Eine häufige Komplikation bei Patienten mit Leberzirrhose ist die Entwicklung eines Leberzellkarzinoms (synonym: hepatozelluläres Karzinom, HCC), weltweit einer der häufigsten Tumorerkrankungen des Menschen mit steigender Inzidenz.
Inhalte. Die rasche Erkennung des HCC und seine frühestmögliche Behandlung sind für den weiteren Verlauf entscheidend. Dabei sind sowohl die Tumortherapie als auch die Behandlung der zugrunde liegenden Lebererkrankung bzw. der Erhalt der Leberfunktion wesentliche Bestandteile der Versorgung von Patienten mit HCC.
Schlussfolgerung/Empfehlung. Neben operativen Verfahren wie der Resektion und der Lebertransplantation kommen häufig interventionelle ablative und transarterielle Therapien zum Einsatz. Standard im fortgeschrittenen Stadium ist die Therapie mit dem Tyrosinkinasehemmer Sorafenib.
