Zusammenfassung

Acanthamoeba spp. hat eine Assoziation mit granulomatöser Enzephalitis und Hautläsionen, ferner können nasopharyngeale, pulmonale und nephrologische Infektionen ausgelöst werden, vor allem bei Immungeschwächten. Bei Immunkompetenten kommt es zu einer akut auftretenden Amöbenkeratitis.
