Abstract

The contention is here advanced that there are serious flaws in the OP3-CRC provisions regarding inquiries; friendly settlements and follow-up (as formulated at the time of this writing) that leave open the possibility for the continued systematic and/or grave violation of children’s rights notwithstanding particular communications under the OP3-CRC respecting those violations. Recall then the provisions of the OP3-CRC addressing the matter of inquiries, friendly settlement and follow-up and the constraints placed on the Committee on the Rights of the Child by OP3-CRC in this regard:
