Zusammenfassung
Die autoimmune Myasthenia gravis, um die es im vorliegenden Kapitel geht, ist eine behandelbare Autoimmunerkrankungen mit Nachweis von Auto-Antikörpern gegen postsynaptische Acetylcholinrezeptoren (bei 80% der Patienten mit generalisierter Myasthenie am häufigsten), muskuläre Tyrosinkinase (MuSK) oder low density lipoprotein receptor related protein 4 (LRP4), die auf verschiedene Weise die neuromuskuläre Übertragung beeinträchtigen können. Das klinische Bild der Erkrankung variiert – insbesondere zu Beginn der Erkrankung können die Beschwerden unspezifisch sein. Aus diesem Grund sind Fehldiagnosen nicht selten. Bei etwa 10% der Patienten manifestiert sich die Erkrankung bereits im Kindesalter.
