Cryosurgery

Abstract

Vascular lesions are very sensitive to low temperatures. Small vessels are ideal for cryosurgical treatment; large vessels raise the local temperature and tend to recanalize after treatment. Many different types of vascular tumors can be treated with cryosurgery: infantile hemangiomas, hypertrophic vascular malformations, angiokeratomas, cherry angiomas, pyogenic granulomas, among others. An overview of the different options will be shown in this chapter.
