Zusammenfassung
Portkatheter haben auch in der Pädiatrie eine lange Tradition. Die ersten Kathetersysteme wurden bei Kindern vor 30 Jahren implantiert (La Quaglia et al. 1992). Die medizinischen Produktehersteller haben sich dem zunehmenden Bedarf angepasst und kleinere, kindgerechte Systeme entwickelt, die schon im 1. Lebensjahr eingesetzt werden können.
