Abstract

With the development of nanotechnology, nanomaterials-based fluorescence sensors have been successfully fabricated for various applications. These nanomaterials include quantum dots, noble metal nanoclusters, upconversion nanoparticles, carbon nanostructures, and so on. In this chapter, the overviews of the fluorescence properties of nanomaterials, fluorescence sensing strategies, as well as their applications in biological and chemical sensing are given in detail.
