Abstract
The Benelli lift is relatively easy to perform, yielding very satisfactory lifting. The Benelli lift is ideal for patients that do not have a marked degree of ptosis and have smaller breasts that frequently need to be enlarged. The author describes the procedure. Widened scars are most likely to occur if absorbable sutures are used for the purse string. There are few complications and the results are excellent. Nipple-areolar necrosis has occurred when the surgeon makes the closure too tight when an implant has been used. The implant should be placed before the purse-string suture has been inserted and tightened. If it is apparent that the closure is too tight, the purse-string should be loosened, the widened scar allowed to be formed, and the scar excised and repaired after 6 months
