Zusammenfassung

Da der vorjährige Bericht die Genomanalyse und Polyploidie besonders berücksichtigte, behandelt die folgende Darstellung die wichtigsten Fortschritte auf dem Gebiet der chromosomalen Strukturumbauten. Eine allgemeine Einführung in den derzeitigen Stand der Cytogenetik bietet keineswegs auf die enge Umgrenzung des Titels „Chromosome Marker“ beschränkt das anregende, unkonventionelle Lehrbuch von Lewis U. John. Hingewiesen sei auch auf zusammenfassende Darstellungen über die Cytogenetik von B-Chromosomen (Battaglia), das Gebiet der chromosomalen Mutagenese [Rieger (2)] und die cytogenetischen Wirkungen von Alkylalkansulfonaten (Moutschen). Mehrere lesenswerte Referate zur speziellen Cytogenetik von Gerste und Reis sind in den Proceedings des 1 st Intern. Barley Genetics Symposium (Wageningen 1963) und des Symposium an Rice Genetics and Cytogenetics (Los Baños, Philippinen, 1963) enthalten. Zu einer wertvollen Monographie stellte Nilan die Literatur der letzten 10 Jahre (1951 bis 1962) über die Cytologie und Genetik der Gerste zusammen.
