Zusammenfassung

Gemessen an anderen phytopathogenen Viren ist die Zahl der Untersuchungen am Tabakmosaikvirus (TMV) nach wie vor sehr groß. TMV ist das vor allem durch die Arbeiten der Gruppen in Tübingen und Berkeley in seiner Struktur bei weitem am besten bekannte Virus. Bei einer großen Zahl von Mutanten und Stämmen sind die Aminosäurensequenzen genau untersucht. Es liegt durchaus im Bereich des Möglichen, daß in absehbarer Zeit auch die genaue räumliche Feinstruktur ermittelt werden kann.
