Abstract
A study of the reactions of plant viruses with chemicals may reasonably be expected to yield some information on the nature of viruses, while the effect upon them of certain disinfectants allows comparison with the behaviour of micro-organisms under similar circumstances. Such chemical reactions are also of use in the identification of plant viruses and possibly in their separation in virus mixtures.
